Written instructions are on the front of each package and these simple three step graphic illustrations are on the back. You will find these indicators to be the simplest on the market to use. They are very easy to apply to your line/leader and go on in seconds, even on a pre rigged set up. You don't have to cut off your fly prior to using these. As you can see in the graphic illustrations above, it's that simple. Just be sure to moisten the tubing before inserting it and this will last you a long time. You will find this indicator to be very easy to adjust up or down your line just by moistening the line. The river helps in this operation. By sliding the indicator up or down your line you can change your depth of presentation that easy. The indicator stays set right where you leave it. An added feature to this product is the tubing acts as a retaining device to keep your indicator on the line when fighting a fish and also acts as a shock absorber. All the tubing is interchangable throughout the assortment of sizes with the only exception being the 1" Teardrops. Because of the size of this indicator, it has it's own specific larger sized tubing. This size works well on Big Water and recommended for heavier weighted flies or when adding heavier weight to the line. The Spey Casting fishermen love this size. When it's time to remove the indicator from your line you can either grab the tubing at the top with your index finger and thumb and pull the tube out, or pull down on your line until the tube is exposed at the bottom enough to grab it with your fingers and then pull it out all the way. Once the tubing is removed just put it back in the hole of the indicator and back into the resealable plastic bag to use another day. It's not uncommon to use the same indicator on 4 or 5 different fishing trips. You'll spend less time on your set up and more time fishing, making it a better day on the water. You might pay a little more for these indicators but if you're not losing them like other brands, then you're way ahead of the game. By following these simple instructions in the next few paragraphs you will get the most use from your Float Master Strike Indicators. Good fishing to you. It's wise to check your indicator closely after landing that fish or right after a snag. If you should snag up, don't pump your rod up and down repeatedly to free the snag. This is the quickest way to snap your rod and launch the indicator off your line like a sling shot. Just piont your rod straight in the direction of the snag and hold on to your line real tight. Now take a few steps backwards until the snag comes free or your weakest point of line breaks. This will save you from breaking your rod and save you from losing the indicator. Most times the hook will bend a bit and come free or the snag will come free. Inspect the setting of your indicator and if the rubber tube is below the top on the indicator then it's time to re-set it. Always leave about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch of tube sticking out of the top. This helps retain the indicator on your line so you won't lose it. If you should drop the tube into the water, you can still grab it because it floats. If you lose it completely just use another piece out of the same pack. It's interchangeable. If you're completely out of tubing just contact us. We sell spare tubing in packages at a reasonable price.
